About us
The Network for Sensors and Measurement
The AMA Association for Sensors and Measurement (Arbeitsgemeinschaft Messwertaufnehmer) has been the central network of the sensor and measurement technology sector since 1981. As a bridge between industry and science, AMA fosters professional exchange, supports technological development, and drives innovation through collaboration.
With around 450 member companies and institutes, AMA brings together broad expertise in the field. Its members work in dedicated committees and working groups to address key topics – from Industry 4.0 and international cooperation to scientific research and market trends. AMA also conducts studies, market analyses, and member surveys on the sector’s economic performance and workforce development.
Efficient Structure, Technical Expertise
AMA operates with a lean organization. All board and committee members – including the Executive Board, Advisory Council, and Scientific Board – serve on a voluntary basis. AMA is solution-oriented, with a strong focus on the practical needs of SMEs and research institutions.
Platforms for Visibility and Collaboration
AMA supports and organizes leading events and publications that promote visibility and networking within the sensor community:
- SENSOR+TEST – the international leading trade fair for sensor, measurement, and testing technologies
- messweb – the online platform for sensor and measurement technologies
- JSSS – Journal of Sensors and Sensor Systems – a peer-reviewed open-access journal for scientific research
- SMSI – Sensor and Measurement Science International – the international conference for research and development in the field
